Legally blind Minn. man robbed twice in 6 months

St. Paul authorities say a legally blind college student has been robbed for the second time in six months.

Twenty-year-old Phil Sporer usually takes a bus to school and to run errands. He bought a new bicycle that he can ride only when it's bright enough for him to sense what's around him.

KARE-TV says he discovered this week that someone picked his lock and made off with the bike.

The loss hurts, but it wasn't as bad as when two men approached him six months ago. One punched him in the face while the other fled with his special $2,000 laptop.

No arrests have been made in the bike theft. However, a security guard was able to describe two men who had been acting suspiciously around the bike minutes before it disappeared.

Sporer's mother is also legally blind.
