14 years for father who abused infant son

A Mankato father is sentenced to 14 years in prison for breaking at least two dozen bones in his infant son's body.

Robert Lee Heck, 31, will have to serve two-thirds of his prison term before he's eligible for parole. Heck was convicted of injuring his 6-week-old son, Jordan, who had fractures to his legs, arms and ribs. Jordan was born conjoined to his twin, Jacob. They were surgically separated shortly after birth.

Heck, the children's mother and Jordan lived at the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester in January 2007 because Jacob was still in the hospital.

The Free Press reports that seven days after his release, Jordan was back in the hospital with 25 fractures.
