Superior police investigate 3 dead of gunshots

Police in Superior are investigating a multiple homicide in a residential neighborhood near Wisconsin Highway 35.

Officials say three people were found dead of gunshot wounds at a home. Neighbors told the Duluth News Tribune they believe a veteran who recently returned from an overseas deployment lived there.

The couple has a child and was believed to be expecting another baby. Superior Police Captain Matthew Markon said police are not seeking a suspect at this time.

"Officers found three individuals deceased at the scene with apparent gunshot wounds and currently officers and investigators remain on the scene and this investigation is just in the beginning stages," Markon said.

Markon says police are not yet releasing the identities of any of the victims in the house.

The Douglas County medical examiner was at the scene this afternoon.
