2 Mike Nelson, a Burnsville college student, has his own Thunderbolt 1000 siren. He restored the siren and painted it with stripes to match a 1950's era civil defense film, "Let's Face It". He says the siren is too loud to crank all the way up in his back yard. 
3 More than 100 years ago, the founders of Bethlehem Lutheran Church prayed and sang in their first language: Norwegian. Today, the church has a new generation of immigrants worshiping with them, so the foreign language emanating from the church is Nuer, one of the languages spoken in south Sudan. 
4 Makda Meles,16, left, won the Miss Teen Africa True Beauty Pageant Saturday. With her, on right, is Durety Diramo,17. Both represented Ethiopia at the Miracle Empowerment Center in Brooklyn Center. 
5 Dustin Byfuglien's dog, Walter, drinks beer from the Stanley Cup in his family's home in Roseau Minn. Sunday, August 15, 2010. Byfuglien won the National Hockey League championship with the Chicago Blackhawks earlier this year, and the Stanley Cup is rotated around to each of winning team's players for to have for about a day.
