Spicer man dies after scooter crash in church lot

A 63-year-old Spicer man has died after a scooter crash in a church parking lot in central Minnesota.

According to the crash report from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's office, Thomas Edward Kelleher was in the parking lot of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Spicer at about 9:15 a.m. Tuesday.

The West Central Tribune reported that the 1987 Honda scooter struck the curb of a median in the lot, causing Kelleher to lose control and crash.

According to Kelleher's obituary, he died Wednesday morning at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Police say he had a head injury.
