Gov. Tim Pawlenty and the Minnesota National Guard are encouraging veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars to go into business for themselves.
Pawlenty and the Guard host a seminar on Tuesday on how to start a small business.
More than 160 veterans are signed up to hear from experienced veterans who have their own businesses and get information on funding and help in developing business plans.
The seminar in St. Paul is the first in a series that will be held around the state, including Marshall, Duluth, St. Cloud and Rochester. Also participating are the U.S. Small Business Administration and state agencies for veterans affairs and employment and economic development.
