Former Hill-Murray president sentenced in sex sting
The former president of Hill-Murray Catholic school in Maplewood has pleaded guilty to charges related to a sex sting.
Joseph Peschges was fined and sentenced to probation and community service on a misdemeanor charge of indecent behavior. Police say Peschges touched an undercover cop in the groin during a sex sting operation at a park in St. Paul in July.
His attorney Kevin Short says Peschges's conviction will be removed from his record if he completes his probation with no further arrests.
"He deeply regrets any embarrassment this matter has brought to Hill-Murray School, and he's very happy to put it behind him," Short said.
Peschges led Hill-Murray for nearly 15 years before resigning after this summer's arrest. He's now retired. The school has an interim president and is conducting a national search for a new leader.
