St. Cloud teachers approve contract

St. Cloud teachers have approved a new two-year contract with the school district after working with a state mediator for six months.

Teachers voted Monday and Tuesday on the proposal that provides salary increases based on experience. Educators at the top of the salary schedule will get $1,000.

Union President Mary Broderick won't release vote totals, but tells WJON there were enough 'yes' votes to pass it, and enough 'no' votes to let the district know there's more work to be done on the next contract.
