Former daycare workers pleads to child porn charge
A former volunteer at the Hennepin Technical College daycare has pleaded guilty to federal charges of possessing more than 600 images of child pornography.
The U.S. attorney's office says that 26-year-old Shawn Douglas Godfrey pleaded guilty on Thursday in federal court in St. Paul.
In his plea agreement, he admitted that on Nov. 5, 2009, he possessed more than 600 images of child pornography. He also admitted distributing some of the images.
Authorities learned about Godfrey after connecting him to a computer user who offered to distribute child pornography.
A sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled. Godfrey faces up to 10 years in prison.
