Minnesota House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher says she's happy to be a finalist for the post of Minneapolis parks superintendent.

Kelliher lost the DFL primary for governor last month and isn't running for re-election to the Legislature.

In a statement, Kelliher called the parks system "a national treasure that has always grown to reflect the needs of a changing city."

She says she's looking forward to the next step in the selection process.
