Fridley man in his 80s reports sex assault in home

Police are investigating after a Fridley man in his 80s reported an intruder physically and sexually assaulted him in his home.

The Anoka County sheriff's office says the man reported that the intruder entered his home about 9 p.m. Sunday, then assaulted him before running away.

The sheriff's office says the man was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

Authorities say there had been other reports of a man trespassing on property in the same neighborhood.

Fridley police and the Anoka County sheriff's office are investigating.
