Fargo standoff ends with man surrendering

A Fargo man accused of causing a standoff with officers by threatening to kill himself has surrendered to police.

Fargo police had closed off a city street Wednesday morning as they attempted to coax the man out of his home.

Fargo radio station KFGO says the man held police at bay for two hours and threatened to shoot himself in the head before he walked out of his home unarmed and surrendered. Police say a shotgun and rifle were found inside the home.

Authorities say the man was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation. Police did not release the man's name.
