Funeral set for Minn. native killed in Afghanistan

The funeral is set for a west-central Minnesota native killed in Afghanistan.

Services for 22-year-old Army Pfc. Ryane Clark of New London will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 17 at the New London-Spicer High School gymnasium.

The West Central Tribune of Willmar reports visitation will be held the day before, from 3 to 8 p.m., also at the high school

The Department of Defense says Clark died Monday of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades.

Clark was based at Fort Bragg, N.C., and had been in Afghanistan since last December. The 2007 New London-Spicer High School graduate was to be remembered Friday night when the Wildcats play Milaca in football.
