Mother arrested after toddler crashes SUV

St. Paul police say they arrested a mother after she left her 3-year-old daughter in a running SUV, which the toddler put into drive and smashed through a store window.

No one was injured.

Police spokesman Andy Skoogman said Tuesday the 23-year-old mother was arrested on a possible charge of child endangerment.

Skoogman says the mother told police she ran into Rainbow Foods Sunday night to get some juice. He says the toddler climbed into the front seat and put the vehicle in drive. It rolled over a curb and shattered a large window at a Cost Cutters store, which was closed at the time.
