Man dies in trench collapse near Bemidji
A worker is dead after a trench collapsed on him near Bemidji.
The Beltrami County sheriff's office says the trench was being dug to repair a water line north of Bemidji when it collapsed Thursday.
Crews tried to open the trench to rescue the man, but he died at the scene.
The victim's name has not been released. The accident is under investigation.
