The chair of the Democratic National Committee was in Minnesota Wednesday to raise money for the DFL Party and kick off efforts to get Democrats to the polls on Election Day.
Tim Kaine appeared at an event on the University of Minnesota campus this afternoon where he and Rep. Keith Ellison were there to encourage students to vote.
Kaine told reporters that he thinks Democrats are likely to lose some seats in the U.S. House but he thinks the party will retain control of Congress.
"The polls are generally moving the right was for Dems right now," he said. "We're seeing tightening, where our polls are either tightening or our leads increase in most places. You want to get Election Day and be on an uptick not flat to declining and I think we are."
Many GOP officials say Republicans are highly motivated to vote this year and they believe they'll retake the House.
Republican National Committee chair Michael Steele was in Minneapolis last week.
