Man in hobo costume arrested for underage drinking

A Wayzata man wearing a hobo Halloween costume has been arrested after being found extremely intoxicated in the doorway of a downtown business in Winona.

The Winona Daily News reports the 20-year-old man was found by police just before 1 a.m. Saturday in the entryway to the Women's Resource Center.

Police say he stumbled away when they shined a spotlight at him. When questioned, the man told officers his ID had been stolen earlier that night at a drinking party.

He was cited for underage drinking after his blood-alcohol context was measured at 0.27 percent, or more than three times the legal limit to drive.

The man was taken to jail, but when he couldn't find a sober friend to pick him up police took him to a local hospital because they were concerned about his health.
