Aid available to MN farms hit by tornadoes, floods

State aid is available to farmers in 29 Minnesota counties hit by summer tornadoes or fall flooding.

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture says the recent special legislative session appropriated $4 million in aid for eligible farmers.

The Flood Disaster Assistance Program is available to help eligible farmers affected by the September floods with certain expenses and losses not covered by insurance.

And zero-interest Disaster Recovery Loans are available to farmers who experienced losses from either the summer tornadoes or the September floods.
