Giant fiberglass steer stolen from St. Paul

A giant fiberglass steer that has been featured in State Fair daily parades for the past five years has been stolen from its home in St. Paul.

Norb Anderson is the owner of the larger-than-life Angus named Blackie. He says the Blackie was stolen this summer and he had hoped someone would have brought him back by now.

He tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press the 12-foot-long, 8-foot-tall molded steer was taken from St. Paul's Como neighborhood in early August.

Anderson says the unit, with trailer, weighs close to 2,000 pounds and cost more than $12,000.

Anderson recently sold the Wisconsin-based FAST Corporation, which stands for Fiberglass Animals, Shapes and Trademarks. He says he's had fiberglass animals stolen before, but they have always come back.
