St. Cloud teen has fatal cardiac attack on bus ride home

A Minnesota family and classmates are grieving the loss of a high school sophomore who died after going into cardiac arrest on a school bus.

St. Cloud school officials say the 16-year-old Apollo High School student complained about shortness of breath, dizziness and sweating before the attack on the way home Tuesday afternoon. About 25 students were on the bus.

The boy was rushed to St. Cloud Hospital, but never regained consciousness.

Superintendent Bruce Watkins tells KARE-TV crisis counseling teams are available Wednesday at Apollo High and at North Junior High where the teen has siblings.
