One death in SW Minn. attributed to snow storm

At least one death in southwest Minnesota is being blamed on this week's snow storm.

The Rock County Sheriff's Office says the body of 64-year-old Arnold Halverson was found in a road ditch just before noon on Tuesday, about a half mile south of the town of Kenneth, Minn.

The sheriff's office says Halverson apparently tried to walk to safety after his car slide into the ditch.

Halverson lived in the town of Kenneth, and it's not known exactly when Halverson became stranded. Temperatures Tuesday morning were in the teens and winds were gusting to nearly 40 mph, causing blowing snow and poor visibility.
