Moorhead police are investigating a fight involving up to a hundred people armed with knives, tazers, and a replica firearm.
Sgt. Mike Detloff said officers were called to a northside bowling alley just after midnight on Sunday. They eventually had to call in assistance from the Fargo Police, Dilworth Police, the Clay County Sheriff's Department and the Minnesota State Patrol.
Detloff said it isn't clear what started the fight.
"It was between two ethnic groups that we have had problems with before," Detloff said. "These two groups don't like each other and it seems like anytime one large group of them gets in some place for a wedding dance, event, anything, the other group will come and try to instigate a fight."
Detloff identified the ethnic groups as Sudanese and Liberian. He said one man was taken to an area hospital after he was stabbed in the buttocks. Two other men were struck in the head with a shovel and replica firearm, but Detloff said they refused medical treatment. No one has been arrested.
