2nd aide sentenced in Minn. nursing home abuse
A second former aide has been sentenced to a total of 180 days in jail for abusing residents at an Albert Lea nursing home.
Ashton Larson, 20, got the same staggered sentence that fellow employee Brianna Broitzman received in October.
Larson's attorney asked if the sentence could begin after Christmas. But the Albert Lea Tribune reports Judge Steven Schwab sent her to jail immediately.
Larson will serve 60 days now and two more 60-day stints in 2011. But she can petition the court to waive the second two terms.

In court, Larson apologized to victims' families and said her actions were "extremely harmful and dumb."
Larson and Broitzman were accused of humiliating residents of the Good Samaritan Society. Four other aides were charged as juveniles with not reporting the abuse.
