Minn. trucking firm accused of defrauding truckers
The owner of a South St. Paul trucking firm has been indicted in federal court for allegedly defrauding drivers.
Marlon Louis Danner, of Inver Grove Heights, was charged Wednesday with six counts of wire fraud, four counts of mail fraud and one count of making a false statement.
It started in 2008 and 2009, when Danner failed to pay a mandated truck rental rate to the drivers hired for a state reconstruction project. His companies, Danner Inc., and Bull Dog Leasing Inc., supply trucks and drivers to construction projects.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports he agreed to pay $185,000 to about 27 truck drivers in February.

But the 66-year-old is accused of telling drivers it was a mistake. The indictment alleges he got back more than $120,000 by June.
