Local law enforcement authorities hope a reward of up to $5,000 will help them catch crooks responsible for a string of robberies in the Twin Cities area.
The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering the reward. The bureau says it hopes the money will generate tips for police and speed the apprehension of violent suspects who have robbed about 20 stores and restaurants since mid-November.
The robbers have hit Jimmy Johns, Taco Bell, KFC and other fastfood restaurants, as well as convenience stores, gas stations and auto parts stores.
Five of the robberies were in St. Paul. Others took place in Minneapolis, Richfield, Brooklyn Center, Crystal plus five other communities.
Anyone one with information about these crimes should contact the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives at 888-283-8477. The agency says all calls will be kept confidential.
