Earlier this week, Morning Edition introduced a number of influential Minnesotans in Washington D.C.; members of Congress, lobbyists, chiefs of staff to powerful senators. Ford Bell is another one more of those voices.

Bell is a veterinarian by training and a former CEO of the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation. You may remember Bell ran unsuccessfully to represent Minnesota in the U.S. Senate in 2006, but he ended in Washington anyway.

Bell is now the president of the American Association of Museums. Bell took Cathy Wurzer on a tour of one of his favorite museums in Washington D.C. -- the Corcoran Gallery of Art.
