Minn. climber back home after Mt. McKinley attempt

Minnesota climber Lonnie Dupre is back in his home state after cutting short his solo attempt to climb North America's highest mountain.

Dupre, who's from Grand Marais (muh-ray), arrived Wednesday at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Dupre tried to become the person to climb Alaska's Mount McKinley alone in January. He made it 17,000 feet up the more than 20,000-foot mountain, but brutal weather forced him down last week.

Dupre tells KSTP-TV that he might consider another try at the climb next January.
