County commissioner facing felony theft charges

A Martin County commissioner is facing felony theft charges.

A criminal complaint says Commissioner Gerald Boler double-billed for reimbursements for attending seven conferences from March 2007 to April 2010.

Prosecutors say the total of all extra reimbursements is $1,167. The complaint says Boler attended the conferences for Three Rivers Resource Conservation and Development and billed both Martin County and the organization for reimbursement.

The Fairmont Sentinel says Boler is charged with seven counts of felony theft and one count of financial transaction card fraud. The complaint says there were five unauthorized uses of a county credit card totaling about $138.
