St. Cloud school locked down after gun mistake

St. Cloud police say an elementary school was briefly locked down after a man with a permit to carry a gun mistakenly walked into the school with the weapon.

The incident happened at Lincoln Elementary at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday as students were being dismissed.

The St. Cloud Times reports the man with the gun was a relative of a student and had come to pick up the child.

Police say he was not arrested.

Students' departure from school was delayed briefly while police interviewed the man and determined the situation.
