Man held in death of woman found in burning home
A man is in jail after a woman was found dead in a burning Brooklyn Park home.
Police say officers were asked to do a welfare check at the home early Saturday. They found two unharmed children inside and removed them to safety. The officers also found smoke and called for firefighters. Authorities then discovered the body of the woman.
Officers arrested the suspect at another location later Saturday morning.
Police aren't saying yet how the woman died or what her relationship was with the suspect. Her name has not been released.
Police will present the case to the Hennepin County attorney's office early this week for possible charges.
