The human cost of the disaster in Japan

Thousands have been killed after the 8.9 earthquake struck the northeast coast of Japan. Presently the country is struggling to contain a potential nuclear meltdown after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant was seriously damaged from the earthquake.
