Man arrested in Minn. mass overdose that killed 1

Authorities arrested a 21-year-old man today in connection with a mass drug overdose that left one person dead and 10 hospitalized.

The man allegedly purchased and provided the rave party drug 2C-E to a group gathered at a home in Blaine. A 19-year-old man died after reportedly taking the hallucinogenic drug.

Anoka County Attorney Tony Palumbo said 2C-E is considered a schedule one controlled substance, but he said it's too early to talk about what charges the man might face.

"At this point, we're still gathering facts," he said. "I don't know for sure what charges if any will be filed. We've got to get all the reports back. We've got to get the medical examiner reports. We're still working on everything to determine exactly what happened and the nature of how the poor young man died."

The man could face charges as soon as Monday, Palumbo said.
