Police: Man kills wife, self in Park Rapids

Police in north central Minnesota say a man killed himself after fatally shooting his wife, who had a restraining order against him.

Park Rapids police say Dawn Anderson called 911 Tuesday night and said her husband, Greg Duane Anderson, was threatening to kill her. Chief Terry Eilers says dispatchers could hear some loud noise in the background, then the phone went dead.

One of the couple's two sons also called for help and told authorities his father had a high-powered hunting rifle. Eilers says when officers arrived at the home they found the couple on the deck outside, both were unresponsive.

KSAX reports Greg Anderson had been living at a halfway house in the Moorhead area.
