Charges filed in Maplewood nightclub stabbing

A St. Paul man has been charged in a stabbing outside a nightclub in Maplewood.

Ramsey County prosecutors filed three counts of second-degree assault against 21-year-old Kongmeng Lee. He made his first appearance in court Monday afternoon.

A criminal complaint says three men were stabbed and slashed with a box cutter outside Stargate last Friday. Off-duty sheriff's deputies, working security at the nightclub, quickly subdued Lee and arrested him.

KARE-TV reports three male victims, two 19-year-olds and a 23-year-old, were taken to local hospitals. They suffered cuts, including some to their head or face.
