Three more cases of measles reported in Minnesota

Measles cases continue to climb in Minnesota. The Minnesota Department of Health reported three more cases Friday.

All three were hospitalized. Two of the measles cases stemmed from the outbreak that began with a 2 year old who became infected while in Kenya.

Officials don't know how the third person became infected. Of the three, one had been vaccinated after being exposed to the measles virus.

The measles infections have included both children and adults. Half of the people infected have been hospitalized. No one has died in the outbreak to date.

Department of Health spokesman Buddy Ferguson said the possibility of infection continues. He added the department doesn't know when the outbreak of measles will be over.

The Department of Health is holding a vaccination clinic Saturday at Fairview Brooklyn Park Clinic from 1 to 4 p.m.
