Willmar man held for hit-and-run, standoff
A Willmar man is being held in the Kandiyohi County Jail after he was accused of running his estranged wife off the road and holding police at bay while armed with a knife.
Police say officers were called to investigate a hit-and-run crash Thursday. A 41-year-old woman told investigators that she was forced off the road by her estranged husband. When officers went to the man's house, he allegedly armed himself with a knife, then barricaded himself in a bedroom.
WCCO-TV says he surrendered a short time later.
