U of M building reopens after evacuation

The University of Minnesota has reopened a building evacuated Monday afternoon because of a bomb threat.

University officials said no questionable items were found during a public safety sweep.

University spokeswoman Patty Mattern says the emailed threat was made against the Science Teaching and Student Services Building.

Mattern said there were 17 classes underway at the time of the evacuation. Another 10 classes set to begin at 2:30 were cancelled. About a 1,000 students were affected by the evacuation and closure of the building.
