Red Cross to open 2 aid stations in north Minneapolis

The American Red Cross is opening two emergency aid stations to help residents of north Minneapolis recover from a devastating tornado.

The stations will be located at Willard Park and Jordan Park. The stations open Wednesday and will run through Friday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Each Red Cross station will provide snacks, lunch and water and will offer health and mental health services. There also will be caseworkers on hand to provide information about disaster recovery.

The Red Cross also will continue to canvass affected neighborhoods providing food, water and other relief supplies. The North Commons Recreation Center, a temporary Red Cross shelter, is also open in north Minneapolis.

So far, the Red Cross has served more than 13,000 meals since the tornado struck north Minneapolis on May 22.
