The Hennepin County Attorney's office has charged a Hopkins man with second-degree murder in a fatal shooting which occurred in south Minneapolis earlier this week.
Biyamin Omar, 28, is accused of shooting to death Guled Mohamed, 26, of Burnsville, after the two men exchanged words.
Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman says the suspect and victim apparently knew each other, but he could only speculate as to why the encounter turned violent.
"Some bad blood. Some disagreements. We don't know enough about it yet," said Freeman. "That's part of the reason we want other witnesses. I think that will be helpful. We don't have the in-depth information as we'd like."
Omar is being held in the Hennepin County Jail.
