3 new cases of measles break out

An adult has come down with measles in the latest outbreak in Dakota county.

The Minnesota Department of Health Friday confirmed a 43-year old woman with an "unknown vaccination history" was exposed to measles in a health care setting. The exposure came from an unvaccinated one-year-old who was infected with measles while in Kenya. Another 15-month-old toddler, also unvaccinated, was infected by that first case.

The third case was identified through public health follow-up of exposed persons. All three cases are residents of Dakota County. These cases are not related to the recent outbreak in Hennepin County.
