1 dead, 3 injured in Minneapolis stabbing

One person is dead and three others are injured after being stabbed early Tuesday morning in northeast Minneapolis.

Officers first learned of the incident when a woman with stab wounds to her hand walked into the city's Second Precinct at 1911 Central Ave. N.E. at about 2:15 a.m. She said there was another victim inside her home at 1016 Lowry Ave. N.E.

On the way to the Lowry Avenue address, officers found two more adult male victims with apparent stab wounds, police spokesman Sgt. Stephen McCarty said. And once the officers arrived on Lowry they found a dead adult male, also with apparent stab wounds.

The woman and two men were transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. The dead man's identity and cause of death will be released later by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.

This case has been assigned to the Minneapolis Police Department's Homicide Unit. Anyone with additional information is asked to call the Tips Line at 612-692-TIPS (8477).

News of the stabbing comes less than 24 hours after Minneapolis Police Chief Tim Dolan held a news conference seeking the public's help in tracking down the killer of 14-year-old Quantell Braxton, whose death is one of a string of murders in Minneapolis in recent weeks.
