Boy arrested, accused of shooting stepdad in head

A Pine City boy is in juvenile custody after he allegedly shot his stepfather in the head.

The Duluth News Tribune reports the 41-year-old stepfather was transferred to a Twin Cities area hospital and is in critical condition after emergency brain surgery.

The Pine County Sheriff's Office says it got a call early Wednesday about a man having trouble breathing. Emergency workers arrived to find the man had been shot in the head.

The stepson is being held at the Regional Juvenile Detention Center. The shooting is being investigated and charges are pending.
