Wedesnday marks the 18th annual World Alzheimer's Day. But nearly 95,000 Minnesotans struggle with Alzheimer's disease every day. A new memoir out this year from Minnesota poet Nancy Paddock examines the emotional toll the disease can take on a family.

"A Song at Twilight: Of Alzheimer's and Love" is the heart-wrenching account of Paddock's parents' nearly decade-long descent into dementia as first her mother and then her father succumbed to the disease. Paddock's parents died within days of each other.
