Minnesota online help-wanted ads drop in September
Job vacancies advertised online in Minnesota dropped in September by 1,700, according to the New-York based research group The Conference Board.
The state figures are part of a larger trend. Demand for workers across the nation slipped in the second and third quarters of the year after a strong start in the first three months of 2011.
Online help-wanted ads in Minnesota have been trending downward since June. The Conference Board identified almost 97,000 openings in Minnesota last month.
The Conference Board says there were roughly 2 ¼ workers for every online job opening in Minnesota compared to 3 1/2 workers for every posting nationally.
