Vikings vice president wants stadium talks 'back on track'

A legislative working group could meet again Wednesday to talk about the Vikings stadium, a week after House Republicans put the brakes on talks for a potential special stadium session this fall.

Gov. Mark Dayton called on lawmakers Tuesday to return to bargaining, and negotiate a solution to the stadium impasse.

The Vikings themselves said they thought they were making progress last month. Team vice president Lester Bagley said the Vikings hope there's still some common ground at the Capitol.

"There's a lot of reasons not to do this, or we can't do this funding source, but we've got to get back on track," collaborating with positive momentum, Bagley said at a Lakeville luncheon on Tuesday.

But lawmakers at that same meeting said they weren't interested in a special stadium session. They said they want to see a deal on paper before they pledge any action.
