Warrant out for Minn. mother of pregnant girl, 13

AUSTIN, Minn. (AP) -- A warrant has been issued for an Austin woman who allegedly let her pregnant 13-year-old daughter move in with the 18-year-old father of the baby.

The 31-year-old woman pleaded not guilty in August to misdemeanor charges of knowingly permitting sexual abuse and contributing to the need for child protection. But she failed to show up to a follow-up hearing.

An Austin Daily Herald report says a jury trial that was supposed to begin two weeks ago has also been canceled.

Austin police say they received information in July from Mower County Human Services that the daughter was five months pregnant and living with the 18-year-old. Court documents say the mother told social workers she'd keep the girl away from the man, but failed to do so.
