Retail analyst says Best Buy must act quickly to win back customers

Best Buy says overwhelming demand for some of its products, like $350 laptops, has forced it to cancel some customers' online orders. The Minnesota-based company released a statement yesterday that read, "We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused, and we have notified the affected customers."

But in such a competitive online market, with retailers fighting for every potential dollar and customer, even the slightest misstep can have long-term consequences.

Joining me now to talk about what some of those lasting issues might be is Sucharita Mulpuru, she's a retail analyst with Forrester Research in Charlotte, North Carolina.
