The Minnesota State Patrol says 11 people were injured in 54 crashes in the metro area last night.
There were also nearly 70 spin-outs or vehicles off roads, said Lt. Eric Roeske. Nine people were arrested for drunk driving. One suspected drunk driver crashed into a squad car.
The rest of the state saw 88 crashes, with 16 injuries and no fatalities, he said. Nearly 140 cars spun off roads. Twenty people were arrested for drunk driving.
This is the third year there haven't been any traffic fatalities on New Year's Eve.
