Minn. man dies in Wis. snowmobile accident

MILTON, Wis. (AP) -- A 28-year-old Minnesota man is dead after a snowmobile accident in western Wisconsin.

According to Buffalo County sheriff's department, Joseph Gillett, of St. Charles, Minn., and another man were snowmobiling in the town of Milton Friday afternoon.

Gillett struck a cable strung between two fence posts and was ejected from his snowmobile. The other man was riding a separate snowmobile and was not injured.

Gillett died at a Winona, Minn. hospital.

The Leader-Telegram reports reports speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
