Man released in Minn. alleged attempted abduction

Brooklyn Park police have released a man who was arrested on suspicion of trying to abduct a girl on her way to school.

Police Inspector Todd Milburn says no charges will be filed at this time.

Milburn tells KSTP-TV that the girl has "recanted" a key element of what she claimed happened.

The girl said Thursday a man had grabbed her arm but she was able to break free and walk to Brooklyn Junior High School, where she reported the incident.

Milburn says the girl now says the man never grabbed her arm, as she initially reported.

The man was released from jail late Thursday. Milburn says police continue to investigate.
